SERVICES — Sunday Morning Praise and Worship is casual and upbeat and begins at 10:00am. Our ‘blended worship’ style includes new choruses as well as traditional hymns. Services might include instruments or we might choose to sing along with music videos. Our praise and worship leads us to a holy moment in which we share in the Lord’s Supper each and every Lord’s Day. Our model for participating in weekly ‘open communion’ is found in the Book of Acts. The younger children are dismissed following our time of singing and have a specially prepared Bible lesson on their age level, while the older young people and adults share in the morning message. We end our time together by sharing Praises and Prayer Requests before closing in a hand-in-hand group prayer. Usually – there are some who go for lunch together following morning worship – so feel free to come along and share in the fellowship!
KIDS — Each week, our younger children are dismissed following our praise and worship time to share together in a specially prepared Bible lesson for their age level, which includes more singing, Bible lesson and crafts. ‘Involvement learning’ allows the children to learn much more as they experience the Bible stories and participate with one another applying their lessons to their young lives. Special activities for children and youth are also planned throughout the year.
Ladies: Our ladies meet regularly for fellowship and Bible study at our Pastor’s home on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30. (A couple of the fellows go eat and share together in fellowship while the ladies meet.) Our ladies also share together in special events and activities, as well as serving together in our times of fellowship and meals together.
Men: Some of our men meet on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 for breakfast and fellowship at an area restaurant. On occasion, ministry opportunities arise for our men to work together to lend assistance to those with special needs – carpentry, mechanical, etc.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH — Riverside Christian Church is proud to be involved as partners with two different organizations in our community to assist folk with groceries. Monthly gifts are shared with the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry, as well as occasional ministry opportunities to help with special events such as the ‘Empty Bowl Project’ and others. We also contribute to the food pantry ministry of the Primera Baptist Congregation which is another ministry opportunity to help with those in need of food and clothing in our community.
